Weston, CT – Structural Post & Railing Repair

A sunlit porch with white railings overlooking a green garden.

While completing an exterior painting project at this Weston home, we uncovered a more serious issue: rot had not only affected the trim detailing but had also compromised one of the structural posts. Because our team handles both painting and carpentry, we were able to address the problem immediately without delay or outside contractors.

We carefully dismantled the railings and posts to replace all compromised sections. During the process, we discovered portions of the railing were also affected. The challenge was that replacing the railing outright would have required a lengthy special order — often a minimum of six weeks — for parts that matched the existing system. Instead, our master carpenters crafted the needed railing components in-house, duplicating the design with precision.

Once the railing issues were resolved, we installed the new structural post properly to ensure long-term stability and durability. By the end of the project, everything was restored seamlessly — the hallway looked as though nothing had ever been damaged, and our client was thrilled with the result.
